Chinese government makes doctors hide deaths linked to Covid: Reports

Covid19 in China : The Chinese government has instructed doctors across the country to conceal deaths related to Covid by making changes in the procedure, as well as an inability to update Death certificates. Voices Against Autocracy (VAA) stated. Apart from this, the authorities have also removed deaths occurring in homes and not hospitals into the count.

China has revealed that it has recorded nearly 60,000 deaths due to Covid between December 2022 between the beginning and middle of December. This is a huge number considering China has claimed that the death rate has increased to 5000 since the pandemic started in the year 2019. According to VAA there were many who believed the actual figure was more and claimed Beijing of under-reporting. The World Health Organization (WHO) called on China to submit more specific information, expressing concern over the insufficient representation of the severity of infections in the country.

Covid illnesses in China increased in the months prior to December's end, and hospitals started to fill up. Patients were unable to have beds, and were sleeping on the floors. Funeral homes and crematoriums were packed, and bodies could be lined up for several days. The Chinese government was silent about the increasing numbers of Covid patients. The government stopped distributing routine health bulletins, which led to confusion regarding what was happening with the Covid situation.

A post on social media from an influential Chinese scientist and official Wu Zunyou disclosed that more than the 80 per cent of Chinese were Covid-infected. According to VAA The Chinese administration has issued circulars and notices to inform doctors not to make mention of Covid as a cause of the death of a patient. "On the certificate of death, we list the primary cause of death and two or three other causes of death, which means we omit Covid," a doctor at a hospital in Shanghai said.

One doctor who is from Liaoning Province, Liu Chen (pseudonym) Liu Chen (pseudonym) said the regulations of the government prevent them from recognizing the deaths of COVID patients suffering from an aggravation of the underlying disease in the same way as Covid deaths. "The Stan hat is the norm that all of us must adhere to. Therefore, from beginning to end, nobody knows the exact death rate that is associated with Covid," he said in a statement released by VAA. Based on complaints from people, deaths resulting from Covid within China are classified as "heart disease", "pneumonia" or "underlying disease".

According to Song Guo Cheng, scholar in the department of National Chengchi University, the most recent death statistics announced by Beijing remain suspicious. "The information gathered from various sources as well as online reports are in stark contrast to the Covid figures released to officials of the Chinese Communist Party. This demonstrates that the CCP continues to manipulate the information and is attempting to conceal the extent of the epidemic," Song said.
