White House confirms that Biden tested positive for COVID-19

Washington - President Biden was found to be positive for COVID-19. He confined himself to the White House on Thursday to get better from what appeared to be mild symptoms. His doctor advised that he would respond well to treatment as he has been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus and is boosted.

President Biden, who is now 79 years old, started using Pax lovid, an antiviral medication made by Pfizer. Karine Jean-Pierre, White House press secretary, stated that the president had received a Pax lovid statement, announcing his diagnosis. This is the first time that Mr. Biden has ever been tested positive for coronavirus.

She said that he would remain at the White House in accordance with CDC guidelines and continue to perform all his duties. He has spoken to White House staff via phone this morning and will attend his scheduled meetings at the White House via Zoom and phone from his residence.

Mr. Biden updated his condition and said he was still working from the White House.

"Hey guys, I think you heard that I was positive for COVID this morning. But I have been double vaccinated. The president stated that symptoms are mild. And I appreciate all your questions and concerns. But I am doing well. I get a lot done and will continue to do so. I appreciate your concern, and you can keep the faith. It will all be fine.

The coronavirus was first identified by Mr. Biden's Antigen Testing. This result was confirmed by a PCR, according to Dr. Kevin O'Connor (White House physician) in a White House letter. His symptoms include a runny nose and dry cough.

He is 100% vaccinated. His first Pfizer shot was in December 2020, and his second in January 2021. The president has also received two booster shots since March. O'Connor stated that he expects the president to respond favorably to treatment, just as all patients are maximally protected.

Jean-Pierre held a press conference with Dr. Ashish Jha on Thursday afternoon. He stated that the president's "risks of serious illness are dramatically lower" since he was fully vaccinated. Jean-Pierre also said that Mr. Biden was last screened for COVID-19 Tuesday, and that the results were negative. According to Michael LaRosa, her spokesperson, Dr. Jill Biden, the first lady, tested negative for COVID-19 in Delaware on Thursday morning. Jean-Pierre stated that the first lady confirmed Thursday's negative test results to reporters in Detroit. After that, he will resume in-person work.
